Tennessee Elite Volleyball Association ("TEVA") is a long-standing volleyball club that has served the youth in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia since 1997.
TEVA was originally organized as the Tri-Cities Volleyball Club. In 2000, the club was renamed Buccaneer Juniors, based out of Johnson City, Tennessee.
In 2002, Dale Martin Casey took the reigns of the club while the head volleyball coach at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia. The club reorganized as a part of Virginia Intermont College and took on the name of VI's mascot, becoming the Cobra Juniors. In 2007, Dale turned over the club to Mike "Chief" Robinson, the assistant head volleyball coach at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, and became Tennessee Elite Volleyball Association.
The mission of TEVA has always been, and always will be to promote to sport of competitive volleyball to the youth in the areas of Upper East Tennessee and, Southwest Virginia, Many of our clubs "graduates" have gone on to successful college careers. In 2007, all of TEVA's graduating seniors went on to play college volleyball.
TEVA has formed numerous alliances with area high school programs, and has helped form numerous local stand-out volleyball players. High school coaches recognize that successful club programs such as TEVA are essential to successful high school programs.
The Tennessee Elite Volleyball Association prides itself in its recruitment of quality coaches for the program. In the 2007-08 season, TEVA has on its staff four college coaches, several high school coaches, together with many college level players.
