PROCEDURE FOR CLOSING THE YWCA
If you are the last persons out of the YWCA, it is your responsibility to make sure the nets are put up properly and the YWCA is properly closed.   The YWCA has been very gracious to allow us to use the facility at a greatly reduced rate.  We must make sure that we help properly care for the facility

Here are directions for closing the YWCA.

1.  Taking down the nets
Loosen the top of the net net with the crank.  Undo the velcro straps on the bottom of the net.  Refasten the velcro straps just like they came off the pole.  DO NOT leave the velcro straps undone.  Remove the top of the net from the straps on the poles and place the nets into the cart with the antennas facing AWAY from the blue butts on the bottom aluminum poles.  Drop the net standards into their lowest position.  On the poles with the cranks, hook the end of the strap into the loop on the pin, and crank it tight.  Remove the poles from the floor.  Place the poles onto the cart, with the butt end on the same end as the blue butts on the bottom aluminum poles.  The tops of the poles should now be facing the same direction as the antennas.  Put the poles for the #1 court on one side of the cart, the poles for the #2 court on the other side of the cart.  Take the pole pads, fasten the velcro, and put them on top of the antennas in the center of the cart with the solid edge facing up for all four pole pads.  Roll the cart into the storage room, and center the cart over the step ladder.  Push the cart GENTLY into wall untill all the ends of the poles touch.  Pick up any stray NETVC volleyballs and put them into the cages.  Turn the light off in the storage room and close the door.

2.  Pick up any trash in the gym and clean up any messes.

3.  Make sure the back doors are locked.

4.  Have everyone exit the gym, and place your belongings outside the exit doors.

5.  Using the small key found on the hook just beside the double wooden doors leading to the bathroom/water fountain, insert the straight end of the key into the light switches for the gym (just to the right of the wooden doors) and turn off the two sets of over head lights.

6.  Turn the lights off in both the men's and women's bathrooms.

7.  Standing still in front of the alarm system, wait until it is ready to activate.  Enter the code, press AWAY, and wait until the screen beeps and displays AWAY.  Turn off the hall light.  Exit out the gym doors.

8.  Check the gym doors again to make sure they are locked.  If you have another person present, have them double check.

9.  Check the two sets of front doors at the main entrance to make sure they are locked as well.

10.  If anything needs attention or you need help, call Chief at 828-230-0425 or Ken at 423-335-9306.

We must follow this procedure when closing the YWCA.
